A fire broke out at the Pattaya Drifting Market on Thursday night, damaging an area of the traveler landmark.
Twenty-seven fire engine, with more than 200 firemens, were sent out to combat the fire that began at about 8pm.
The fire spread rapidly due to a lot of stores being built with wood and thatched roofings. Sounds of gas cylinders taking off were heard one after another.
The blaze was brought under control at about 10am, after triggering damage to various stores and structures on among the 19-rai (14,400-square-metre) land plots. Among the firefighters suffered small burns and was sent out to a health center.
The reason for the fire is under examination, and the degree of the damage is being examined.
A relief centre has actually been established to assist those impacted by the fire.
