PATTAYA, Thailand — A relatively regular elimination of a mango tree took a magical turn on October 26 when employees found an elaborately sculpted green Buddha image nestled within its trunk. The 100-year old tree, standing at an outstanding 10 meters high and roughly 80 centimeters large, was being reduced in preparation for a spiritual procession arranged for November 5.
As the chainsaw made its mark, the employees were met a sight that left them awestruck– an emerald-hued Buddha image preserved within the heart of the tree. The fragile extraction that followed saw the spiritual image thoroughly eliminated and consequently put for veneration at the regional temple. Interested by this remarkable discover, reporters started a journey to Wat Nong Sang Prachabumrung Temple in Phanat Nikhom District, Chonburi Province. Within the temple premises, a varied variety of trees stood in peaceful coexistence. Phra Dej Kitthalo, a Buddhist monk at the temple, assisted the reporters to the area where the mango tree when stood.
Phra Dej Kitthalo exposed that an external woodcutter was summoned to eliminate the tree, required by the upcoming spiritual occasion. The split trunk laid bare the fascinating Buddha image, crafted from green gems and radiating an aura of serenity. The enigma surrounding the image’s origin and its centuries-old confinement within the tree fascinated both the employees and temple authorities.
Today abbot, now in his 3rd generation, acknowledged the temple’s unpredictability about the image’s origins and its future function in public praise. Presently living in the temple’s chamber, the captivating green Buddha image is a quiet witness to its mystical past and future fate. As the temple administration waits for the return of the Chief Abbot, presently taken part in enhancing the understanding of amateur monks at other abbeys, the future of this unforeseen spiritual artifact hangs in thriller, leaving the regional neighborhood and curious observers excited for additional discoveries.
