PATTAYA, Thailand— A 39-year-old male, was jailed by traveler cops on December 12 for taking a gold bracelet worth 200,000 baht from a traveler in Pattaya. The arrest was made in cooperation with regional cops, following a warrant provided by the Pattaya provincial court.
The theft happened on December 3, when Mr. Kolal Avisake, a 40-year-old Indian nationwide, submitted a problem that his gold bracelet was nabbed by a female in front of a cannabis store on Strolling Street, Pattaya. CCTV video footage revealed that the female was in fact Mr. Saranpat Bawornkijnukul, who was camouflaged as a woman.
The cops traced Saranpat to a condo in Soi Khao Noi, in Nongprue, east Pattaya. The cops robbed the space and discovered Saranpat asleep. They took a wig, a gown, and a set of high heels as proof. Saranpat admitted that he was the individual seen on CCTV, however rejected taking the bracelet. He declared that he just got in the store to awaken the traveler and did not take anything from him.
Nevertheless, the cops learnt that Saranpat had a previous arrest in 2017 for a comparable theft case. They think that he might be associated with other unsolved cases of taking from travelers in Pattaya. The cops are questioning Saranpat and taking a look at the proof to identify the degree of his participation in the current theft and whether he has any accomplices or witnesses.
