Pattaya: National group star Sadom Kaewkanjana produced a sensational five-under-par 65 last round to win his first expert competition at the three-million-baht Singha Pattaya Open at Burapha Golf and Resort the other day.

The 19-year-old golf player from Narathiwat upstaged an army of experienced experts in the field with an overall rating of eight-under 272, completing one stroke ahead of nationwide colleague Kammalas Namuangruk, who closed with a 69.
Nevertheless, due to their amateur status, neither Sadom nor Kammalas might get the winner (450,000 baht) or runner-up cheques.
