Temperatures are soaring towards April, the Songkran water splashing month, with lows ranging from 26-28 degrees Celsius and highs reaching 33-38 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning as hot weather grips various parts of Thailand. Residents in the northern and central regions (including Bangkok and Pattaya areas) are urged to stay vigilant as some areas experience scorching temperatures. In particular, there are concerns about the potential dangers posed by thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the southern region is also expected to see some unsettled weather, with partial thunderstorms forecasted in certain areas. This weather pattern is attributed to a combination of factors, including high-pressure areas and cold air masses covering the northeastern region and the South China Sea. Additionally, southerly winds and southeasterly winds are bringing moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, contributing to the unsettled conditions.

Conversely, the western part of Thailand is experiencing low-pressure areas due to the prevailing heat. As a result, hot weather with partly cloudy skies is expected during midday, particularly in Bangkok and its surrounding areas. Despite the heat, there’s a 10% chance of thunderstorms in the capital region.

Temperatures are soaring towards April, the Songkran water splashing month, with lows ranging from 26-28 degrees Celsius and highs reaching 33-38 degrees Celsius. Authorities are advising residents to take precautions, especially those in areas prone to thunderstorms, and to prioritize their health amidst the intense heat.

Stay tuned for further updates as the situation develops.
