Bangkok’s Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT) is set to host the ‘Siam Heritage from 3 Eras’ cultural event at the Bangkok National Museum in Phra Nakhon district, from June 14 to 16. Organized by Bangkok Expressway and Metro (BEM) Plc as part of their ‘Happy Journey with BEM’ campaign, the event promises a historical exploration through Thailand’s ancient kingdoms: Dvaravati, Sukhothai, and Ayutthaya.
Visitors will have the chance to enjoy comprehensive exhibitions, engage in discussions with historical experts, and participate in workshops creating traditional Thai handicrafts. The event also features traditional Khon performances and music from each historical era.
Beyond historical insights, the event caters to contemporary tastes with food stalls offering local street foods and vendors selling historical books at reduced prices. To facilitate access, BEM will allow free entry to the first 1,000 guests who present an MRT card and provide a complimentary shuttle service from Sanam Chai station to the museum.
Sanam Chai station itself is an attraction, located in Bangkok’s historical Rattanakosin Island and renowned for its genuine Thai architectural style. The station houses a small museum showcasing artifacts discovered during its construction. (NNT)
