The festival, reflecting the King’s dedication to the preservation of Thai cultural heritage, will take place across three prominent locations in Bangkok, including the Thailand Cultural Center, Sanam Luang ceremonial ground, and ICONSIAM.

The Ministry of Culture has announced the hosting of the International Ramayana Festival from July 12-15 as part of the celebrations for His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on July 28. The festival, reflecting the King’s dedication to the preservation of Thai cultural heritage, will take place across three prominent locations in Bangkok, including the Thailand Cultural Center, Sanam Luang ceremonial ground, and ICONSIAM.

According to Minister of Culture Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, the event highlights the rich narrative of the Ramayana through unique interpretations from eight participating countries: India, Cambodia, Myanmar, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. This collaborative cultural exhibition allows Thais and international visitors to experience diverse artistic expressions related to this epic story.

The performances are scheduled as follows: the festival will commence with an opening ceremony on July 12 at the Thailand Cultural Center’s Main Auditorium, followed by multiple performances at the same venue and Sanam Luang on July 13. On July 14, additional shows will take place at the Thailand Cultural Center and ICONSIAM, culminating in a closing ceremony on July 15 at the Thailand Cultural Center.
