The Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with TikTok, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote the growth of Thai SMEs in the e-commerce market.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Napintorn Srisanpang, Deputy Minister of Commerce. During the event, he also launched the “SME Thai: Great to Use, Great to Shop” campaign on TikTok Shop, aimed at boosting SME sales throughout June 2024.
Napintorn emphasized the importance of this collaboration in helping Thai SMEs adapt to modern commerce. He highlighted how leveraging digital technology and e-commerce innovation can create business opportunities and sustainably increase revenue for SMEs.
Under this MOU, the Department of Business Development and TikTok will work together to provide Thai SMEs with opportunities to expand their online sales channels and reach global customers. This initiative particularly targets high-quality community products that lack sufficient publicity. The TikTok Shop platform will enhance business appeal and increase sales.
The “SME Thai: Great to Use, Great to Shop” campaign features over 100 quality stores from across the country on TikTok Shop. Top community products will be sold live by famous influencers. Oramon Subthaweetham, Director-General of the Department of Business Development, noted that the collaboration with TikTok will enhance e-commerce training and support online marketing tools for Thai SMEs.
Chanida Klaiphan, Head of Public Policy for Thailand at TikTok, stated that the MOU marks a significant milestone. It will promote Thai SMEs on the TikTok Shop platform and enable them to compete in the ever-changing e-commerce market.
The campaign is part of the THAILAND SME Synergy Expo 2024, which will be held from June 19-23 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event will feature live broadcasts by popular creators to boost sales for entrepreneurs. (NNT)
