Among Thailand’s most popular and most aesthetically sensational yearly celebrations, Loy Krathong is commemorated throughout the moon of the 12th month of the Thai lunar calendar. This year the celebration is on Monday, 27 November.
Likewise referred to as the “Celebration of Lights” and the drifting lantern celebration, Loy Krathong sees individuals all over collect at night at lakes, rivers, canals, and beaches to take part in the events and pay regard to the goddess of water. Here are a few of the significant Loy Krathong events happening this year:
— Loy Krathong and Candle Light Celebration, on 18-27 November, at Sukhothai Historic Park in Sukhothai province;
— Yi Peng Celebration, on 26-28 November, around Chiang Mai community locations in Chiang Mai;

— Pattaya Loy Krathong Celebration, on 27 November, at Central Pattaya Beach in Chon Buri;
