The “Praepastra Borommachininat” event, dedicated to celebrating the 92nd birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, commenced with a dazzling start on Mother’s Day at Paragon Park, Bangkok. The week-long celebration, which concludes on August 18, is orchestrated by the Ministry of Culture to honor Her Majesty’s contributions to Thai culture, especially her efforts in preserving and promoting traditional Thai handicrafts and textiles.

The exhibition has drawn thousands of visitors, many of whom attended with their mothers, enjoying a showcase of unique Thai textile patterns from all 76 provinces. Highlights include the Dok Sak pattern from Phrae, the Kaew Mukda from Mukdahan, the Pair of Birds on the Jar from Ratchaburi, and the Coral and Sea from Phuket, each illustrating the country’s rich cultural heritage.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Rudklao Intawong Suwankiri invites the public to participate in the event, describing it as an excellent opportunity to connect with Thailand’s cultural heritage. The event will feature cultural performances, demonstrations, and fashion shows, all designed to promote Thai textiles while contributing to economic growth and job creation in local communities.
