The Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT) opened the ‘Vijit Chao Phraya 2023’ lavish light occasion last night with light-and-sound programs, forecast mappings, fireworks show, and cultural efficiencies at 5 primary places along the Chao Phraya River. The 31-night occasion will run till New Year’s Eve and will culminate in the Incredible Thailand Countdown 2024.
Ms. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, Minister of Tourist and Sports, stated “The Vijit Chao Phraya 2023 is a crucial component of the Thailand Winter Season Celebration. Making up 5 significant occasions, this first-ever year-end phenomenon symbolises the Thai federal government’s invite to travelers from all over the world to come and experience the lively celebrations of Bangkok and ring in the New Year 2024 in Thailand.”
To mark the start of the Vijit Chao Phraya 2023 occasion, Ms. Sudawan led the TAT-hosted VIP and press trip together with the TAT’s Board members and executives. The specifically set up river cruise includes grand light and colour programs at 5 primary places– Rama VIII Bridge, Wat Arun, Wichai Prasit Fort, Memorial Bridge, and River City Bangkok– along with ICONSIAM.
Till 31 December 2023, visitors are welcome to immerse themselves in the nighttime lavish light reveals at the 5 places or throughout from each location on the opposite side of the river. For the optimum experience, cruise operators are using sightseeing cruises to see the programs. The occasion run from 18.00-22.00 Hrs. with special activities for each place.
Rama VIII Bridge: 6 rounds of a five-minute 3D laser reveal with light and sound every night. In addition, at Santichaiprakarn Park, there is the seven-minute cultural efficiency entitled ‘Wonder of Thailand’ with fireworks display screens set up for 4 rounds nighttime on 1-2, 7-9, 15-16, 22-23, and 29-30 December.
Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn): 6 rounds of a five-minute illuminate or light mapping program every night. A seven-minute illuminate and sound program together with the cultural efficiency entitled ‘Retelling the Legend of the Giant at Wat Chaeng Thepsathit on both sides of the Chao Phraya River’ is set up 3 rounds nighttime on 1-2, 7-9, 15-16, 22-23, and 29-30 December.
Wichai Prasit Fort: 6 rounds of a five-minute illuminate or light mapping program every night. And, on 1-2, 7-9, 15-16, 22-23, and 29-30 December, the schedules consist of 3 rounds of a five-minute forecast mapping program and water drape with light and noise.
Memorial Bridge (Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge): 6 rounds of a five-minute lighting program with light and sound every night. The three-minute fireworks show is set up as soon as nighttime on 1-2, 7-9, 15-16, 22-23, and 29-30 December.
River City Bangkok: 6 rounds of a five-minute forecast mapping reveal with light and sound every night.
