BANGKOK, Thailand – The upcoming edition of Bangkok’s International Festival of Dance and Music, now in its 26th year, will present a diverse array of spectacular artists and performances from around the world, running from 7 September to 20 October 2024, at the Thailand Cultural Center.
This year’s festival aims to honor His Majesty the King in continuing, preserving, and building on the royal projects of the late King Rama IX and to commemorate Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra in expanding new experiences in music and performances to Thai audiences.
One of this year’s highlights is the performance of Swan Lake by the Bolshoi Ballet of Russia. With its cast of 170 artists and a live orchestra, this iconic ballet has become one of the world’s most renowned and oldest, first performed almost 150 years ago. Their Majesties the King and the Queen of Thailand will grace the performance on 13 September. The general public is welcome to greet Their Majesties.
Other highlights include Marie Antoinette by the Malandain Ballet, The Nutcracker by the Tokyo City Ballet, Peter Pan on Ice by the Imperial Ice Stars, and La Boheme by the China National Opera House.
The Swan Lake performances will be open to the general public on 13, 14, and 15 September 2024, at the Main Hall, Thailand Cultural Center. Tickets are available at Thaiticket Major.
