Organisers of the Top of the Gulf Regatta are preparing for the occasion’s 15th edition which is anticipated to draw in more than 700 rivals from 30 nations.
Organised and hosted by the Ocean Marina Private Yacht Club in Pattaya, the regatta is an essential sports tourist occasion for Thailand.
More than 200 boats are anticipated to contend in approximately 16 classes from April 30-May 5.
” The Gulf of Thailand is an exceptional location for cruising. We have excellent winds throughout the year and the warm weather condition makes it popular with sailors from all over the world,” William Gasson, co-chairman of the Top of the Gulf Regatta Organising Committee, informed an interview the other day.
” The Top of the Gulf Regatta offers Thai sailors with a chance to race in a global occasion versus global rivals.”
New to the competition this year is a para cruising class for handicapped professional athletes.
This will be the very first fleet of its kind worldwide and interest is high with para sailors from France, Australia, South Africa, Japan, Indonesia, Estonia, the Philippines and Thailand revealing their intent to contend in the yearly occasion.
