Suthikiati: Traveler arrivals rose

SET-listed Central Plaza Hotel Plc (Centel) published a combined net earnings of 322 million baht in the 3rd quarter of this year, increasing 10% year-on-year, on income amounting to 4.64 billion, up 6%.

Adding to its strong third-quarter efficiency was the nation’s thriving tourist market. Of the overall income, 2.03 billion baht originated from the business’s hotel service and 2.6 billion from its food operations.

Suthikiati Chirathivat, chairman of Centel, stated overall worldwide traveler arrivals to Thailand in the 3rd quarter rose 13% year-on-year, driving Centel’s typical hotel tenancy rate to 83%, up from 80% in the exact same duration in 2015.

For its hotels in the Maldives, the tenancy rate increased to 92% from 76% in the exact same duration in 2015.

In the 3rd quarter, its income per readily available space (RevPAR) increased 6.3% year-on-year to 3,500 baht.

In Thailand, Centara Grand Mirage Pattaya, Centara Grand Krabi and Centara Grand Samui all accomplished impressive boosts in their RevPAR of 7%, 6% and 6%, respectively. The RevPAR for hotels in the Maldives was 15% after Centara Grand Island Resort & & Health spa Maldives finished significant restorations in July.

On the other hand, its food service continued to broaden in the 3rd quarter with total-system-sales development of 5.5% and same-store-sales development of 0.1%, due to enhancing customer self-confidence.

KFC sales continued to increase, with same-store-sales development of 1.8%, while its other fast service dining establishment brand names, specifically Tenya, Yoshinoya and Katsuya, likewise carried out well, with same-store-sales development of 10%, 17% and 30%, respectively.

Since Sept 30, Centel had 806 food outlets, of which 292 remained in Bangkok and 514 remained in other provinces.

For the nine-month duration, Centel published a combined net earnings of 1.43 billion baht, increasing 4.4% year-on-year, on income amounting to 14.6 billion, up 5.6%. Of the overall income, 7.93 billion baht originated from food operations and 6.67 billion from its hotel service.

CENTEL shares closed the other day on the Stock market of Thailand at 37 baht, down 75 satang, in trade worth 73.5 million baht.
