Pattaya, Thailand— Authorities and firemens hurried to the scene of an accident in between 2 heavy trucks, one filled with fuel and the other with asphalt on Highway 36 in Huay Yai sub-district on July 26.
The event included an Isuzu 10-wheeler trailer truck filled with asphalt that rear-ended a Volvo 18-wheeler fuel tanker. The accident triggered heavy damage to the back of the fuel truck, raising issues about the possible threat of fire.
Firemens sprayed water to cool off both cars, guaranteeing the security of the rescue operations and lessening the threat of spontaneous combustion.
Luckily, both truck chauffeurs emerged from the accident unhurt. The mishap caused rush hour blockage for a number of kilometers, requiring a quick clearance operation to bring back typical traffic circulation.
The motorist of the fuel tanker stated that he was carrying over 40,000 liters of B7 diesel fuel to Nong Khae District of Saraburi province, at the time of the mishap. He associated the accident to an abrupt lane modification that triggered him to decrease, resulting in the accident with the asphalt-loaded truck behind him. On the other hand, the motorist of the asphalt-loaded truck reported experiencing brake breakdown, leaving him not able to prevent the accident with the fuel tanker.
