PATTAYA, Thailand — A Pattaya taxi driven by an inebriated lady crashed into 2 parked pickup on Soi Khao Ta Lo on March 6. One truck, an Isuzu D-Max, sustained front-end damage, while the other, a Toyota Hilux was struck from the back. The taxi plunged into the front of a neighboring bar, triggering damage to metal railings.
The cabby, recognized as Ms. Siriwan Nantamta, 42, was discovered at the scene displaying indications of intoxication and was apprehended for questioning. According to eyewitnesses, consisting of Chayathorn Sirilert, owner of the Isuzu D-Max, the occurrence happened as they were interacting socially in front of the bar. They heard a loud crash and turned to see the taxi hitting their parked cars. The taxi then diverted off, skidding for over 10 meters before crashing into the bar.
Ms. Siriworan confessed to driving the taxi with her partner as a traveler, acknowledging that she had actually taken in alcohol previously at night. She admitted that throughout an argument with her partner while driving, she lost control of the automobile and hit the parked pickup.
Initial examinations by the authorities discovered Ms. Siriworan to be under the impact of alcohol. She was consequently considered a blood alcohol test, and legal procedures will follow in accordance with the law.
