The Election Commission on Monday authorized the outcome of the Might 22 city government elections in Pattaya, highlighting the political hold of the Kunplome household on the resort city.
The EC ruled that the surveys were transparent and reasonable, however stated the outcomes were still available to examination if problems were submitted.
The election saw Poramase Ngamphiches of the Love Pattaya group being chosen city guv, with about 14,000 votes – about 2,000 votes more than his closest competitor, Sinchai Watthasartsathorn of the Pattaya Ruam Chai group.
Mr Poramase ran for the task after outbound guv Sonthaya Kunplome chose not to run. He moved his attention to preparing his Palang Chon faction, now under the Palang Pracharath Celebration umbrella, for the basic election.
Mr Sonthaya backed Mr Poramase as his follower.
