Nestled on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, Regents International School Pattaya is a leader in holistic education. The school understands the power of going beyond getting good grades to get into the world’s best universities. It is just as important to address the emotional, social, and ethical needs of students.
Regents takes this comprehensive approach, not only focusing on academics but also on character education. The goal is to equip students with a foundation that takes them wherever they want to go in life. Regents grasps that every student is different and believes that the best education starts with doing what they love. Thanks to the school’s ability to welcome learners of all ages until Sixth Form, the journey to well-rounded success can begin from as young as two years old.
An education at Regents takes a multifaceted approach. Over 1,100 students from 50 countries enjoy a high-quality education tailored to their talents, passions and future ambitions. Such personalised journeys are typical at a school that encourages its learners to build on their strengths, develop their talents, and explore new possibilities. They also receive expert guidance from an international, world-class faculty every step of the way.
“Every student forges their own path to success at Regents, enabled by outstanding teachers, the highest academic standards, and expert care and attention,” says Amos Turner-Wardell, principal.
The result? Happy students who achieve more. Here’s how Regents makes this possible:
Inclusive, immersive boarding
A quality boarding school experience is priceless. Regents offers just this. There are boarding options to match the needs of individual students (starting from eight years old) and family. These include part-time and full-time boarding. Whichever format you choose, your child will be part of an immersive and inclusive environment that puts their happiness and well-being first.
Think of it like a second home and family. On-site boarding parents have full access to every aspect of a student’s health and development. They supervise their academics after class and arrange weekend trips and activities. Meanwhile, boarders representing a mix of nationalities and cultures serve as siblings to make the most of out-of-hours access to facilities such as a pool, a gym, and music rooms, all guarded 24/7 by onsite security.
A unique curriculum
Regents offers an unrivalled choice of subjects, distinct pathways and tailored education. Learning takes place in small classes, where students follow the school’s globally recognised British and international curricula. It is one of the few schools in Thailand – and the only school in the region – to offer IGCSE, and the option of both A Levels and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB), allowing Sixth Form students more opportunities to design their academic pathways.
Thanks to this personalised, all-encompassing education, students are en route to the university of their dreams, including the top 100 universities across the globe. In 2023, 80% of Regents graduates were accepted by their first-choice institution.
Prestige reflected in results
Regents is a member of Round Square. It’s a global network of schools in 50 countries collaborating to offer world-class programmes and experiences that develop global competence, character and confidence. Here at Regents, being part of Round Square means providing a unique gateway for students to discover their passion and giving them the confidence to pursue it.
The results are reflected in the books. Regents’s IGCSE class of 2022 achieved the best results in the school’s history, with 58% getting A* to A. The following year, 90% of IGCSE students achieved A* to C. IB students are constantly high achievers as well — in 2023, their average score was 33 points, higher than the global average of 30 points.
Learning goes beyond the classrooms
Performers, leaders, and adventurers – these are a small sample of what Regents students become, thanks to the school’s range of experiential activities. Here, students take charge of their own adventures, crafting their personal journeys while supported by professionals from The Juilliard School, MIT and UNICEF.
Beyond these prestigious collaborations, students can choose from over 200 activities in its expansive co-curricular programme, including dance, sports, music and more. Global expeditions join students with other international Nord Anglians on adventures to Tanzania, Switzerland and New York. These trips are great for sharpening leadership skills. Regents students have participated in workshops, seminars, and debates at the UN High Level Political Forum and Model UN event in New York.
Community initiatives
When it comes to making a difference, Regents students start young. Just this year, the “Culture Club” run by Sixth Formers won at the International School Awards, a yearly competition organised by ISC Research. Its aim is to highlight inspiring and impactful initiatives developed by students, leaders and educators in the international education sector.
But that’s not all that Regents is celebrating this year. In February, an initiative named “Mission Possible” led by Year 10 students was awarded the Nord Anglia Education Social Impact Grant of US$10,000. The aim of the project is to make a long-term, sustainable difference to a non-profit organisation called “Women With a Mission” which helps to educate stateless orphan children on the border of Thailand and Myanmar.
