The immigrant frantically waves his hands as the ferryboat cruises close, quickly plucking him out of the unstable waters.

A heart-stopping sea rescue unfolded off the Pattaya coast on November 19, caught in a viral 20-second video. The video reveals the bold rescue of a foreign traveler stranded in between Pattaya and Koh Larn Island, roughly 3.7 kms from the coast in tough conditions of strong winds and high waves.

Captain Nit Thongdee, 50, of the Sor Puong Payom 6 Pattaya-Koh Larn Island ferryboat, validated the event’s credibility. He stated that, on the early morning of November 19, he observed a human figure drifting in unstable waters while transferring travelers to Koh Larn. At first misinterpreted for a lifeless body, he approached with care.

Upon closer examination, he discovered a foreign traveler, dressed in a black t-shirt and swim trunks, frantically drifting with raised hands. Captain Nit quickly stopped the ferryboat, releasing a lifebuoy to effectively save the guy in spite of treacherous conditions.

The saved traveler and fellow travelers disembarked at Koh Larn Island. Strangely enough, the traveler left without describing how he wound up adrift. Captain Nit revealed relief at the effective operation, highlighting the traveler’s lucky survival amidst the unstable waves.
