Itthiphol Kunplome, up until just recently the Minister for Culture, was detained at Suvarnabhumi airport on Monday early morning for supposed corruption in a questionable condo task he authorized 15 years back when Pattaya mayor.
Mr Itthiphol rejected the charges and informed the court he would discover a legal representative to safeguard him. The court launched him on bail of 120,000 baht.
The previous cabinet minister is implicated of unlawfully authorizing the building of the substantial Waterside Suites & & Residences condo structure, neglecting Bali Hai marina, on Sept 10, 2008, when he was Pattaya mayor.
Bali Hai Co was the task owner, and the building stays insufficient. There is an order for its demolition.
The Waterside task was developed to have 57 floorings on two-rai of land at the foot of Khao Phra Tamnak hill, surrounding to Pattaya Bay and Bali Hai Pier.
The task was challenged over its style and the land it was developed on.
Mr Itthiphol, 50, belonged to the 2nd cabinet of previous prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha from July 2019. He is a more youthful sibling of previous Pattaya mayor Sonthaya Kunplome.
