An unique operations cops group jailed a lady for offering boiled Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) water to travelers and children on Pattaya Beach, on January 2. The undercover operation was introduced after regional homeowners grumbled about the widespread sales of the illegal psychedelic drink.
The cops group impersonated clients and purchased 1-liter bottles of Kratom water for 100 Baht each, utilizing significant banknotes to trace the seller. They then snatched Kesarin Sawaengnoak, 28, likewise referred to as “Nat”, who was concealing an ice-filled foam box consisting of 4 1-liter bottles and 2 smaller sized bottles of Kratom water. Kesarin admitted that she was the provider of the Kratom beverages, which she got from Sri Racha.
Kesarin stated that she offered the Kratom beverages for 100 Baht per liter and 50 Baht per half liter, which she might offer up to 100 bottles daily. She declared that she did not understand that offering Kratom water was prohibited. The cops charged Kesarin with the offense of “offering food consisting of Kratom leaves as an active ingredient without authorization”.
They stated that they would examine the case even more and take legal action versus her. The cops stated that the undercover operation became part of their efforts to punish the prohibited sale of Kratom water, which might present health dangers to customers.
