CHON BURI: A lady was eliminated and 2 other individuals seriously hurt in a mishap including a pickup and 2 motorbike taxis in Pattaya on Tuesday early morning, authorities stated.
The mishap took place about 2.30 am when the pickup, a Toyota Vigo, diverted throughout the middle line at a curve in Soi Chalerm Phrakiat 6 of tambon Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district, and hit 2 approaching motorbike taxis in the opposite lane.
The chauffeur of the very first motorbike taxi, Saengpilom Artson, 59, and the female traveler, Chalida Distephano, 26, were seriously hurt. Both Mr Saengpilom’s legs were broken and twisted.
The chauffeur of the 2nd motorbike taxi was not injured, however the female traveler, Suphan Pongwiset, 42, was seriously hurt and passed away later on at a medical facility.
Sithipol Liangchampa, 28, the pickup chauffeur, was apprehended for questioning pending legal action.
