PATTAYA, Thailand— Educators and trainees from Pattaya City School 8 collected at Wat Chaimongkhol on February 23 to honour Makha Bucha Day, showcasing the school’s dedication to protecting Thai culture and Buddhist customs.
Makha Bucha Day, commemorated on the very first moon of the 3rd lunar month, honors the historical event of 1,250 of the Buddha’s disciples over 2,500 years back at Veluvana, now Venu Van Park in India. It highlights Buddhist concepts of empathy, unity, and ethical conduct.
The day’s activities at Pattaya City School 8 were thoroughly developed to impart the significance of Makha Bucha Day which falls on February 24. Trainees took part in instructional sessions exploring its origins and practices, promoting a much deeper understanding of Buddhist customs.
