CHON BURI: Cops robbed a club in Pattaya late on Sunday trying to find overstayers and drug abusers, however the immigrants there had existing visas and all consumers checked drug-free.

The 10.30 pm raid on the Hollywood Club in Soi Phet Trakul, Bang Lamung district, became part of a crackdown on immigrants overstaying their visas and getting in the nation unlawfully.

About 300 Thai and foreign consumers remained in the bar when cops showed up.

Cops separated the consumers into groups of Thais and immigrants, males and women, prior to examining their ID cards and passports along with evaluating their urine for drugs.

None of the immigrants – 81 Chinese, 28 Hong Kong Chinese, 27 South Korean, 3 Taiwanese and 2 Lao nationals – were discovered in breach of migration law or to be utilizing controlled substances.
