PATTAYA, Thailand— A 22-year-old Taiwanese male desired for scams in his home nation was apprehended by Thai authorities in Pattaya on February 10. Hsues Hua Liu was the topic of an arrest warrant released by the Economic and Cultural Workplace in Taipei, Thailand’s representative workplace for Taiwan, for his participation in a call center rip-off that targeted Taiwanese victims.
According to the authorities, Mr. Liu ran away to Thailand on October 23, 2023, with a traveler visa that ended on January 9, 2024. He overstayed his visa by 32 days and concealed in Pattaya. The Criminal Activity Suppression Department and the Traveler Cops Chonburi released a joint operation to locate and record Mr. Liu, following a tip-off from the Taiwanese authorities. He was apprehended at a leased home in Pattaya and required to the Pattaya City Police Headquarters for more interrogation.
The authorities stated that Mr. Liu admitted to his function in the scams plan and revealed his determination to comply with the examination. He will be charged with scams and visa offense, and will be extradited to Taiwan after the legal procedure in Thailand is finished.
