An American traveler was discovered caught in a drain in Pattaya on Tuesday night after a passerby heard him calling for assistance.
Rescuers were contacted us to Soi Thepprasit 8, Bang Lamung district about 7.30 pm.
They were directed to a drain on the side of the roadway. When they checked out the metal grill over the hole, they saw a guy about 1.50 metres listed below, caught in the 60 centimeter sewage system pipeline. They opened the grill and raised him out.
A security personnel informed cops he heard a guy shouting, obviously calling out for assistance. He browsed, however saw no-one. Then he looked down through the grill over the neighboring drain, and saw a guy below.
Pattaya and traveler cops quickly reached the scene. The caught male was determined as Jonathan Ioane Vaimaona, 36, an American who showed up in Thailand with his sweetheart on May 12.
Mr Vaimaona appeared tired by his experience. He was using just a set of trousers, his body covered with sludge. Asked how he ended up being stuck in the sewage system pipeline, his response was puzzling. It was not yet clear what took place.
