Pattaya: Two British tourists were beaten up by three security guards outside Helicopters Bar in Pattaya, Thailand, On Friday, May 24. The incident left one of the tourists in a coma, fighting for his life after the bouncer kicked him in the head, reportedly over an issue about the bill.
The British tourists claimed they were being scammed and refused to pay the full amount. This led to a heated argument with the bar’s hostess, who then called for security.
Video of the incident:
The incident was captured on CCTV. In the video, the tourists can be seen settling the bill. However the situation escalated outside the bar when one of the tourists allegedly pushed one of the security guards, triggering a violent fight.
The video shows the brutal attack where three security guards are seen overpowering the British men. One of the tourists is seen pleading for mercy on the ground. A security guard then kicked the defenceless tourist in the head, leaving him unconscious for several minutes.
According to witnesses, the injured tourist is now in a coma. Despite the severity of the attack, Thai police have only issued a warning to the security guards involved and no arrests have been made because no formal complaint has been filed by the victims or their representatives so far.
Sergeant Major Arthon from the Pattaya City police station said, “There’s no case open until they complain. We’ve looked around but can’t find them. Yes, we’re still checking the CCTV to see what happened to them. There are rumours that he is in intensive care, but we haven’t heard anything from hospitals,” reported The Metro.
