PATTAYA, Thailand— Mayor Poramet Ngamphichet, in a collective effort with city authorities, contributed 30,000 Baht to the Thai Association of the Blind. The funds, accumulated through a charity drive and contributions from city staff members, goal to rescue and fix up 2 buffaloes from slaughterhouses.
This humane effort, revealed on February 5, is created to offer the buffaloes to aesthetically impaired people in Uthai Thani Province for reproducing and income functions. Mayor Poramet personally contributed 3,000 Baht to the cause, matching the 27,000 Baht raised by city staff members.
