In reaction to the instruction, organizations in Pattaya willingly closed their bars and home entertainment facilities, lining up with the effort to honor the spirit of Buddhist Lent and lionize for the spiritual observance.

Over 40 policemans were released to patrol and screen bars and home entertainment places, making sure stringent compliance with the restriction on alcohol sales.
