PATTAYA – Teenage amateur Atthaya Thitikul ended up being the youngest winner on the Ladies European Trip on Sunday when she beat Ana Menendez of Mexico by 2 strokes in the inaugural Ladies European Thailand champion at the Phoenix Gold Golf and Nation Club on Sunday.

Atthaya produced a level-par 72 on Sunday to complete the week on 5-under-par 283.

She started her 4th round one shot behind Menendez after publishing rounds of 70, 71 and 70. However the Mexican gamer dropped 4 shots on the front 9, handing Atthaya a two-shot lead at the turn after one birdie and 2 bogeys on her very first 9 holes.

At 14 years, 4 months and 19 days, Atthaya broke the previous record of the previously top-ranked Lydia Ko, who at 14 years and 8 months won her very first expert occasion at the New South Wales Open in 2012.

” I’m so delighted for my win today and feel so happy with myself. I provide this win to all Thais,” stated Atthaya who took motivation from previous top-ranked gamer Ariya Jutanugarn.

” I fidgeted at the very first tee. However I didn’t think of ball games. I simply concentrated on my shots and just on my caddie. I didn’t anticipate to win this competition as I simply came here to find out strategies from the professional gamers on the Ladies European,” stated Atthaya, including that she would not turn expert for a couple of years since she requires more experience.
