Numerous visitors went to security as fire raced through a hotel in Pattaya early on Friday early morning.

The fire was reported at the Vacation Inn Express on Soi Bua Khao at about 4.30 am.

3 fire engine and teams were released to the scene. Flames damaged the 3rd flooring of the eight-storey hotel. As thick smoke rippled from the front of the structure, more than 400 visitors remaining there were fast left – consisting of kids, senior and handicapped individuals.

Firemen took about thirty minutes to bring the fire under control, Thai media reported.

A guard at the hotel stated he initially saw smoke originating from a space veranda on the 3rd flooring, and after that flames that were rapidly spread out by the strong wind.

There no reports of individuals being hurt. Damage was at first approximated at 3 milion baht or more.
