Mayor Poramet Ngampichet together with his deputies and personnel admired King Taksin the Great at Pattaya Municipal government to mark Chinese Brand-new Year.

Pattaya authorities made offerings to the divine beings and to wish a flourishing Chinese New Year.
Mayor Poramet Ngampichet led the 9 a.m. Jan. 22 observance at the King Taksin Monolith in front of Pattaya Municipal government with city board members and bureaucrats.

Offerings were prepared according to custom and beliefs of Chinese-Thais and a dragon and lion dance was carried out. Then, After the events, the mayor distributed “Ang-Pao”, cash-filled red envelopes to the general public as is the Chinese custom.

Consequently, the group paid regard to the Prince Chumphon Khet Udomsak Monolith at the Pattaya perspective on Pratamnak Hill prior to transferring to Naklua to make offerings to Chinese gods at the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Structure Shrine where amazing dragon and lion dances were carried out.

Poramet made a true blessing speech wanting them joy, success, happiness, health and wealth in the Year of the Bunny.

The mayor and city authorities distributed “Ang-Pao” or cash-filled red envelopes to the general public as is the Chinese custom.

The city entourage next went to the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Structure Shrine where the paid their aspects to the Chinese divine beings and viewed amazing dragon and lion dances.
