PATTAYA: The genuine owner of Mountain B bar, Somyos Panprasong, gave up to authorities on Tuesday after a court warrant was released for his arrest in connection with the dreadful fire there on Aug 5.

Mr Somyos, 55, was accompanied by attorney Jakrit Jindarat when he reported to Phlu Ta Lung authorities in Sattahip district, Chon Buri, about 10am on Tuesday.

He was charged with recklessness, triggering deaths and injuries, and opening and running a home entertainment place without consent. He at first rejected the charges.

Mr Somyos was being apprehended by authorities for questioning.

To date the blaze has actually declared 19 lives, with much more clients experiencing crucial burns.

The Pattaya Court on Monday released a warrant for the arrest of Mr Somyos, authorities stated.

The warrant was released after authorities acquired strong proof that Mr Somyos remains in reality the owner of and financier in the bar, which was run by his child Pongsiri Panprasong, 27.

A group of authorities were apparently sent out to Mr Somyos’ home in Soi Thamwithaya 1 in tambon Sattahip to perform the warrant on Tuesday early morning. There were unofficial reports then that he prepared to give up.
