The cabinet dealt with on Tuesday to extend the Unique Traveler Visa (STV) program for one year up until Sept 30 next year to charm well-to-do visitors.

Deputy federal government representative Traisuree Taisaranakul stated the cabinet authorized the proposition from the Tourist and Sports Ministry to extend the unique visa program for visitors’ long stays from its initial end this Thursday.

The prolonged program was planned to bring in immigrants with high acquiring power to check out the nation with their households and remain for 90-270 days. The sees would generate cash and assistance tourist and associated organization, Ms Traisuree stated.

The Tourist and Sports Ministry informed the cabinet that over the previous year the STV program brought 5,609 visitors to Thailand and their stay triggered a minimum of 1.24 billion baht to be distributed. The long-stay visitors originated from China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain and Croatia.

Their preferred locations after their quarantine were Bangkok, Surat Thani (Koh Samui), Phuket, Udon Thani, Chon Buri (Pattaya), Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Chiang Mai and Rayong. Their stays balanced 90 days, Ms Traisuree stated.
