Swiss orchestra ZHdk Strings.
Genius Rudolf Koelman will lead his chamber orchestra from Switzerland, ZHdK Strings, in a performance at Siam Bayshore Resort in Pattaya, on Monday at 7pm, and at Thailand Cultural Centre in Bangkok, on Wednesday at 7.30 pm.
Provided by D&M Music Studio and Siam Ratchada Music School, the “ZHdK Strings Orchestra in Thailand 2014” will see the 18-member orchestra from the Zurich University of the Arts carry out pieces by Mozart, Vivaldi, Mendelssohn, Elgar and Grieg. The orchestra is consisted of artists of 16 citizenships. All of the members live in Switzerland.
It is directed by Koelman, a performance violinist who studied with masters such as Herman Krebbers and Jascha Heifetz. Koelman has actually carried out as a musician with the Amsterdam Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, the Stuttgart Philharmonic and the Tokyo Philharmonic.
He is presently a teacher of solo and show violin at the Zurich University of the Arts. Both programs will likewise include violinists Momoyo Resch and Sachiko Uchida, and harpsichordist Alberto Firrincieli, from Presumption University’s Department of Music Efficiency.
